Zhao is a Venture Partner at EGP focusing on portfolio management and exits.

Prior to joining EGP, Zhao spent 18 years at the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, with various roles at China team and sector teams. He was a Managing Director and Head of Asia Pacific Industrials sector team. He brings a wide range of investment banking experience from advising on complex cross-border M&As and restructurings, to IPOs and other forms of capital raising, with total transaction value exceeding US$100 billion.

Before Morgan Stanley, Zhao worked as an Associate at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong.
Zhao started his career as a Management Associate at PSA Group in Singapore, with a focus on corporate finance and treasury functions, including capital raising, M&A, credit profile monitoring, hedging, and equity investment portfolio management.

Zhao received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.
